Family Owned

Vanderberg Clean is a family owned and operated cleaning service based in Mankato, MN. Josh Vanderberg started the company in 2009. Building Vanderberg Clean from the knowledge that Josh had gained from working with his grandparents, Larry and Sharon Bomsta, who owned a local cleaning company in the 1970’s. Josh brings with him a lifetime in the cleaning industry. At first the business was geared towards Janitorial Services and in 2010, Carpet Cleaning (residential and commercial) was added. In 2010, Josh’s wife, Becca, joined the team. Their children are the ultimate cheerleaders for the team. In 2014, Josh and Becca received the Young Entrepreneur of the Year for MN award given by the Small Business Administration.

History

Timeline of Our Growth

2009

Vanderberg Clean was Founded.

In 2009 Vanderberg Clean was founded by Josh Vanderberg with the goal of providing quality Janitorial and cleaning services in the Mankato community. Building a company from the knowledge that Josh learned from his grandparents, Larry & Sharon Bomsta, who owned Sharon’s Cleaning Service in Mankato from the 1970 to 2004, the business was focused on janitorial services.

2010

Carpet Cleaning Services.

In 2010 Josh purchased the companies first truck mount and opened the Carpet Cleaning team. From day one Vanderberg Clean has been an IICRC certified firm and committed to providing quality carpet cleaning to both residential and commercial customers. Also in 2010, Josh’s wife Becca joined the team full-time. Vanderberg Clean moved its operations out of Josh and Becca’s home to our first commercial location at 2017 North Riverfront Drive in Mankato. Though it was a very humble warehouse the space allowed the company to continue growing.

2011

Relocation

In 2011, Vanderberg Cleaned moved to the Old Town Center where the company had office space and warehouse space.

2014

Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Josh and Becca where honored to be nominated by Michael Nolan to received the Young Entrepreneur of the Year for MN award given by the Small Business Administration. Also in 2014, Vanderberg Clean hired a disaster restoration manager and began to fill the need in the community for fire and water damage restoration. Though never intended to be a large part of the business, Vanderberg Clean wanted to be able to help neighbors in need.

2015

New Location & Remodel.

In 2015, Vanderberg Clean purchased the former Arctic Ice building. Over the next year the building was restored and office space was built out. This allowed space for onsite cleaning for fine rugs and fabrics as well as an expansion of inventory and more efficient work space.

2016

Settling In.

Construction was completed and Vanderberg Clean officially moved from downtown to their current location of 1090 South Victory Dr in Mankato, MN.
